RM of Leask’s story
The Rural Municipality of Leask No. 464 incorporated on December 9, 1912. It lies west of the city of Prince Albert and surrounds the villages of Leask and Parkside, as well as the organized hamlet of Pelican Cove. The municipal office is in Leask. The RM also surrounds Mistawasis 103 and several separate reserves of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation.
One of the area's landmarks is St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Silvergrove, which is recognized as a historic site of Canada.
Today, Martins Lake Regional Park draws visitors to the eastern shore of Martins Lake, next to the Muskeg Lake reserve. The park has a campground with more than 140 sites, a sandy beach, a picnic area, a restaurant and a boat launch, and anglers fish the lake for walleye and northern pike. Martin's Lake Regional Park Golf Club offers a 9-hole course and a licensed clubhouse.
